Week 6

Gas Tank and Body

The gas tank has been installed and the body is mounted onto the rolling chassis.

Week 5

Reassembly Begins

The front and rear suspension, engine, transmission, brake and fuel lines have been installed to the frame.  We just need to mount the fuel tank and it will be ready to have the body put back on.

Week 4

The Frame is Back
The Body is Stripped

The frame has returned from being acid dipped and e-coated. The bare frame is getting a coat of semi-gloss paint put on before being assembled to a rolling chassis and being put back under the body. Then it will get the final fitting and body work done. The body is now completely stripped of paint and the factory seams were V'd out to 1-1/4 inch wide. Notice that the doors were removed, the jambs completely stripped and hinges painted. The headlamp assemblies were also removed for a complete stripping.

Week 3

The Engine

The engine was disassembled to a long block, painted, detailed and reassembled.

Waiting to install it to the frame.

Week 2

The Frame

Right hand end cap, inner and outer rails were replaced Left hand inner and outer rails replaced - note: we staggered the inner rail approx. 18" and the outer approx. 8" Left hand outer rail repaired
Upper shock mount has been reinstalled as we had to remove it to repair the area where coil spring mounts Shows left hand inner horn and shock mount replaced - note the orange bench fixture holes line up perfectly to the frame with no bolts installed

Week 1

Inspection

This car looks good at a distance,
but the owner would like it to be standing tall.
The body is lifted off the frame. Upon inspection the frame has issues.
It has rotted through in the usual area
and the frame was undercoated to hide the damage.

After removing the engine, gas tank and front and rear suspension parts from the frame, it will be sent to the dipper to be stripped.

The engine will be disassembled for detailing as it has been recently rebuilt.
The parts will be cleaned, primed and painted before reassembly.
