Why do C3 headlights droop?
Ever see a C3 Corvette with droopy lights? Or see that the area around the headlights is all chipped up? Wonder why this happens? The horizontal bar that supports the headlights is made of lightweight metals. Over time these metals corrode, which in turn allows the bar to become detached from the fiberglass. As the bar separates it lowers the rear of the headlights, causing them to look bad. There are two different things you can do to remedy this condition. |
 |

1.You can try to adjust the headlights up. By
taking a rat tail file and elongating the adjustment holes in the
headlight bucket mounts and using an allen head fastener, you can
get another half an inch of adjustment out of your existing setup. |
 |
 |
2. I f the light door cannot be adjusted up high enough
you are going to have to replace the horizontal support bar. This
is a labor-intensive procedure as the headlights need to me removed
and the old bar removed before the new one can be bonded in. Dynamic
Corvettes stocks all the parts and supplies required to properly repair
your C3 headlights, give us a call for more information. |

Corvettes don't
rust..right?
Even though the body of a Corvette is made of fiberglass there are
still some components that are subject to corrosion. 1976-1982 C3
Corvettes feature sheet metal flooring in the footwells of the car.
If the Corvette has had a leaky t-top or has
been driven in salty conditions it's possible that these sections have
rotted out and will need to be replaced. Speaking of leaky t-tops,
the windshield frame is a candidate for corrosion if the chrome trim
has not been properly sealed. Most of the time this problem does not
become evident until the windshield needs to be replaced. When looking
at a Corvette if you check around the a-pillars you can usually see
evidence of corrosion coming from around the trim panel. Dynamic Corvettes
stocks new sheet metal components for the replacement of the windshield
frame. If this repair is not done properly, your Corvette could crack
its windshield just by going over a bump in the road. |

Corvettes are built on a full frame. These frame
are very tough, but on a 30 year old car they may be corroded. The
channels that run underneath the door fill with sediment, rodent nests
and other debris. This debris packs toward the rear of the frame rail
with corrodes the section where the wheel arch meets the lower channel.
Replacement frame sections are available and we do keep a few rolling
chassis around. Please note that replacing a frame on one of these
cars is an expensive operation.

You can help to extend the life of your Corvette
frame by rinsing any debris out of the frame channel. This will prevent
moisture from being concentrated in that rear area and subsequently
rusting that frame section out. |

C4 Corvette A/C
airflow problem
After a number of years of use you may find that the air conditioning
performance of your C4 Corvette is lacking.
There is a simple cleaning procedure that may restore the performance
of the system.

First remove the blower motor from the vehicle.
You should then be able to see the evaporator core inside the blower
motor housing. |
Take a bright flashlight and look inside the
blower housing, if your evaporator core looks like this this :

Its pretty easy to see why you are not getting
any air into the passenger compartment of your Corvette. Remove the
resistor on the top right of the case. Take a garden hose and some
light detergent such as Simple Green and hose out the evaporator core.
Take care not to get to much water into the A/C system. Make sure
that the water is draining out of the drain spout. Take a blow gun
with a long end and blow out the area where the resistor mounts. Once
the unit is clean of debris reinstall the blower motor, the resistor
and run the system for a few minutes to completely dry it out.. |
